Abstract |
This study examined the characteristics of visual perception attentional focus that appeared in the eye tracking experiment of the elderly in a large complex space. This has a significance in that prepared the chance to observe the process of perceived information is recognized through observing the process of elderly people looking at space. The results of the analysis through the research are as follows. First, divided and observed the definitions of 3rd, 6th, and 9th consecutive gaze as ‘Attentional focus& GT; Conscious Attention & GT; Visual Understanding Process’ while analyzing the number of gaze times of eye tracking experiment. Able to find the data reduction rate from the process of finding specific perceptual elements of perceived visual information through the trend of decreasing the number of consecutive gaze. Second, As the number of consecutive gaze is switched from 3 times→6 times→9 times, the number of bad data increases as the number of effective times decreases. From the increase in the number of effective gaze times with the progress of the gaze time, there was a lot of exploratory gaze activity through fixed rate and leaped rate at the beginning of gaze process, but as the gaze time getting longer, able to find that it turned in to convergent gaze activity which increased fixed rate. Third, Different to 3rd, 6th consecutive gaze, in the 9th consecutive gaze, the frequency of dominant gaze increased continuously with the increase of time range. If consider this as the gaze characteristic of the elderly, it is possible to interpreted that the elderly tend to 'visual understanding' as their gaze time increases compared to ‘attentional focus’ or ‘conscious attention’. Fourth, In the process of analyzing the eye tracking of the elderly, if the number of consecutive gaze times is set to high, it can find attentional focus area in the space while the effective time decreased and deviation increased. This means that increasing the number of gaze times in the process of analysis for the elderly may causes side effects that increase the indiviaul error range. In the process of the study, the analysis must be conducted by clearly establishing which visual perception characteristics are to be derived. |
