Abstract |
With the change of modern paradigm, industrial facilities have been transformed into idle spaces. We want to build a social platform with local members through cultural value innovation. Various value exchanges that occur on the platform bring about community activations and network effects. In addition, a circular system will be established to enhance user satisfaction, generate profits, and secure many users. Also, after renovation of idle space, Continuous maintenance, space composition for interaction, vitalization of socio-cultural values and creation of economic benefits are required. It is necessary to actively accept and reflect the characteristics of the platform when doing renovation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze and organize the methods and platform characteristics to be achieved in the renovation of idle spaces. As a research method, the generation of idle spaces is understood first, and the renovation method of idle spaces is reviewed. It also understands the theoretical concept of the platform and derives the characteristics of the spatial platform through prior study of the platform. The spatial classification is classified as public, cultural, educational, resident and commercial. Renovation methods have preservation, transformation and utilization, and platform characteristics have been derived variability, openness, mutuality, complexities, accessibility. Based on this, eight cases were analyzed by substituting the platform characteristics and methods of renovation of idle spaces by space classification. The comprehensive analysis is as follows. Accessibility and mutuality were high, but openness and complexities were low. Thus, in the renovation of idle space, it is necessary to introduce the expressive elements of variability and openness that are characteristic of the platform. And it can be supplemented by the deformation method. For idle space to create new features and values and change images, Factors that did not exist in buildings in the past and the introduction of new materials should be considered. As a result of this research, we hope that the renovation of idle spaces will be a self-sustaining space, providing cultural hubs for the region and society, as it will be consistent with local values and form a space that reflects platform characteristics. |
