Abstract With the advent of the Industry 4.0 era and the development of technology, the interior space must also change accordingly, but the modern space is not expanded to maximize space utilization as it focuses only on providing technology-oriented services. The purpose of this study is to analyze the space through 'IM House', a smart building in Korea and various kinetic buildings outside of Korea, to rebuild the environment of the existing modern indoor space in the future, and the need and development of a kinetic indoor environment that goes beyond the limits of the paradigm. Give directions. As the subject and scope of the study, first, through case thesis analysis, domestic and foreign cases that are judged to be the most suitable for the development direction of modern spaces are set. This research method examines the characteristics and development directions of residential spaces incorporating modern technologies by analyzing several preceding studies. The indoor space characteristics are analyzed by listing and classifying 'IM House' and applied technologies abroad. The spatial form of the researched buildings is explored according to variability, technology, and combination. Finally, the scope of application that affects the indoor environment design is considered, and design and environmental factors are presented through the stages and development directions of kinetic expressions that can be implemented. the spatial environment reduces unnecessary colors and decorations on walls, floors, and ceilings to achieve minimal spatial gestures. The more the spatial environment is simplified, the more advantageous the utilization becomes. If the interaction in the indoor space is made more intimate and a kinetic space environment is realized, it will be reconstructed as a user-centered space where individual lifestyles are more freely accommodated.
