Abstract Innovations in digital technology and changing educational philosophies are breaking the bonds of traditional learning spaces, with the emergence of digital technologies and hybrid forms of educational delivery to learners. Moreover, with the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a growing societal interest in the multiple ways in which digital technologies can be introduced into the learning environments. This study will analyze the trends in research on digital technology-based learning environments according to different time periods, grasp the trends, and use them to prepare basic information for future research on learning spaces. In this paper, 106 articles from domestic academic journals were collected and analyzed qualitatively using literature research methods and partially using statistical analysis. The analysis was carried out according to the journals in which they were published, the field of study, the purpose of the study, the object of the study and the key words. The results are as follows: With the emergence of COVID-19, the development of digital technology and the acceleration of changes in learning styles, research on digital learning has been increasing, but it has mainly focused on education and technology, while research on the environment is insufficient. The environment is a factor that affects the user and therefore in the future it is important to consider not only technology and education research but also the relationship between digital technology and the environmental dimension.
