| Abstract |
This study focused on the rooftop space as a space unique to the traditional market that can appeal to the MZ generation as a differentiated strategy for revitalizing the traditional market. And it proposed a plan to utilize idle rooftop space in traditional markets. On the other hand, in this study, to propose a specific rooftop space utilization plan differentiated from existing research, using Yangdong Market in Gwangju as an example, the problems of using existing rooftop space were analyzed, and improvement plans were proposed. In addition to the traditional market, a relatively large-scale rooftop remodeling case similar to the size of this case was analyzed. And cases of large-scale complex shopping malls, including department stores, which are achieving great growth, were also analyzed by operating various experiential contents using rooftop space. The planned features were extracted and applied to the Yangdong Market rooftop space utilization plan and improvement plan by dividing the cases into three types for each program created. Since this study is based on a specific case, it is meaningful that it was possible to present more realistic and concrete plans. In addition, since there is no significant difference in the timing of completion of traditional markets in Korea and the shape of buildings by region, this study can serve as basic data for planning and operation when using idle rooftop space in traditional markets with accessible flat shelves. |
