Abstract |
This study aims to analyze the current status of bicycle paths and pedestrian and bicycle paths in Haeundae-gu and to suggest improvement measures for problems. Korea achieved economic growth due to rapid industrialization and urbanization, but problems such as traffic congestion, environmental pollution, and climate change occurred due to the increase in the penetration rate of automobiles, which increased the interest in urban sustainability and eco-friendly transportation. Bicycles are attracting attention as an important means of transportation to solve these problems, but improvements are needed to ensure safety and efficiency in the design and operation of bicycle paths.
As a result of the study, many sections with a high risk of collision between pedestrians and bicycle users were found on bicycle paths in Haeundae-gu, and it was found that there was a lack of clear distinction between pedestrians and bicycles to pass safely. In addition, the connection with public transportation is low, and clear information is not provided to bicycle users, causing confusion. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to clearly distinguish between bicycle paths and pedestrian paths, install safety signs, and strengthen the connection with public transportation. By establishing a safe infrastructure centered on bicycle users by referring to overseas cases, it will be possible to increase bicycle utilization and contribute to the establishment of a sustainable transportation system in the city. |
