| Abstract |
Based on the ancient Chinese and Korean texts, and relieves in stone caves,this paper attempts to clear the style and characteristics in the earliest Chinese pagoda and Korean pagoda. And attempts to unveil the original background and gradation process of formation of the East Asian Buddhist pagoda.The style of Chiese and Korean pagoda is different from its Indian and Gandharan prototype. In the process of transition, Indian prototype pagoda is diversified in its neighbourhood country. So called, northern type Stupa is spreaded in East Asia region through the Gandhara.Chinese and Korean pagodas are divided into many types by its matearial, plane, style, times,number of stories, structure. |
