Abstract Sixteen reinforced concrete beams with opening were tested in shear strength under two points loading. The vertical length of rectangular's opening put 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4 times of beam depth, diameter of circular opening and the horizontal length is 2 times of the vertical length of rectangular's opening and they were changed with the methods and presence and absence of reinforcement. Then conclusions were drawn like the followings;1.The a/b=2.0 rectangular's opening beam with horizontal and vertical reinforcements is stronger and efficienter in effect of reinforcement than the circular opening beam with ring reinforcement under 0.3D of opening size.2.It is possible and desireable that the size of rectangular's opening does under 0.3 times of beam depth.3.The beam with a/b=2.0 rectangular's opening can make use of behavior of beam of circular's opening.Forword, I will systematically and steadily study about reinforced concrete beams with rectangular opening.
