Strength of Shear Connectors in Composite Steel and Concrete Beams |
Abstract |
The strength of stud shear connectors in composite steel and concrete beams with deck plate is affected by slab failure modes, but current design codes consider only the dowel failure of stud shear connectors. Therefore, a new formulation for strength of stud shear connectors in ribbed slabs is requested to consider slab failure modes. For this, sixteen push-out specimens were tested. Through the regression analysis on this and previous test results, a equation of the strength of stud shear connectors is proposed, and then it is proved that the equation is applicable to the design of stud shear connectors incomposit beams with slab failure modes. |
