Abstract The paper presents initial findings of a Daylight Measurement Program currently in progress at the Suncheon National University. Measurements of sky luminance are more difficult than those of integrated hemispherical illuminance, since each point in the sky vault has a unique luminance. However this can be simplified by restricting the discussion to evaluating the zenith luminance, since equations have been developed for obtaining luminance at other points in the sky based on this zenith value. Correlations are presented relating zenith luminance to solar altitude and illuminance turbidity factor(Til). Also the results are compared with existing equations for zenith luminance. Finally, the relationships between horizontal illuminance and zenith luminance are dicussed.
