A Study for Development of Steel Structure Building system |
| Abstract |
The present status and issues of the domestic industrialized building system were investigated to solve the shortage of man power and improve the quality of construction in the building industry. For this purpose concept of metal building system was adopted. In the area of metal building system the appropriate structure was assessed and economy of building system was analyzed. The analysis shows 14% increase in net construction cost over conventional one. This assessment, however, dose not take into account the possibility of constructing during winter, cost saving due to fast occupancy, and fast turnover rate of funds. There still is a need for development of the optimum structural system and new construction materials. |
