Abstract Interior space is basically surrounded by architectural surface and decorated with many elements including art-works which gave messages to the users. So, the symbolism felt from architectural shape and interior items must be considered at the schematic design stage, and the architects generally uses the methodologies derived from mental image, imagination & design theme. In the case of architecture, analogy, typologic & rhetorics are genenally used for concept derivation, while in visual art, metarphor, symbol & visual impact methods such as visual scandal, visual pun & surrealism, are used.Interior design can be viewed from architectural aspect & visual aspect all together, which resulted in the total accomodation of the both sides' design methodologies.Sometimes more emphasis of one side may be occurred according to the characters of needed functions & users, but more consideration must be applied to the space in order to make reasonable symbolic system based on human-experienced-oriented space.
