| Abstract |
The rise of the architect as profession in many countries parallels with the formation of the professional society of architects. Through the activities of the professional society of architects, architects could control the quality of architecture of themselves and could independently acquire the exclusive position in professional domain of architecture and get practical gains.Like in England, where the architects had struggled against surveyors during the formation of IBA and in Japan, society of architects against academy, in Korea, society of architects and academy had struggled against the scriveners. Currently there are three societies of archtects in Korea: Architectural Institue of Korea, Korean Institute of Regitered Architects, and Korean Institute of Architects. The modernization of architects as profession could be realized when these three institutes were united. |
