A study on the transformation of openings in KangDangs of SeoWons |
| Abstract |
This study is to investigate the transformation of openings installed on the partition wall between DaeChung and Bang through the case study on KangDangs of 17 Seowons which have been unabolished in South Korea.The way to carry out this study was to examine existing situations and restored forms of the openings comprizing several floor plans, analyze these forms chronologically, and classify them. Results of this study are as follows.1)The early type which had both the front and the rear column spacing had double swing window on the front column spacing and single(double) swing door on the rear.2)The next type had Deul-E-Yul-Gae doors which attached windows on both the front and the rear column spacing.3)The last type had Deul-E-Yul-Gae or 3.4BunHap swing doors of the same shape which did not attach the windows on the front and rear column spacing. |
