Building Envelope Thermal Performance Analysis Using Multiple Regression Procedures |
Abstract |
Regression analysis procedure is applied to define algebraic expressions which can be used to study the effects of various configuration parameters on building energy performance. The DOE-2. 1C energy analysis simulation program was used as a simulation tool in conjuction with a prototypical building modules to generate a data base related to building envelope thermal load. Configuration variables parameterized included orientation, wall conductance and mass, glazing properties of windows (window to wall ratio, U-value, shading coefficient). The modular concept used in the building definition permits generalization of configurations other than that analyzed and therefore the results can be used in studying building design trade-offs. |
