A Study on the Types and Planning of mixed use Dwelling |
| Abstract |
This study aims to grasp the characteristics of mixed-use dwelling, thereby to suggest some major aspects which can be used as planning guidelines for the future.For the study, the 6 types of mixed use dwellings were classified and their own characteristics(with relavance to their location and functional elements) were analyzed. In addition, the problems of dwellings conditions and user needs were also surveyed by the questionnaire.The major findings are as follows:1.The desirable types were limited to the ones of which functions were vertically seperated.2.Major functional elements should be selected by the evaluation of residential activities. In this respect, the supporting facilities for the everyday living (grocery store, drugstore, small retail shops, etc) are major elements of mixed-use dwelling.3.The approach separation, different locations of service areas for both functions (residence and retail) should be considered at the initial planning stage. |
