An Experimental Study on the Behavior of Beam and Column Connection with various connection shapes in Prestressed Reinforced Concrete Frame Structure |
Abstract |
To obtain design guideline for moment-resisting frames of the prestressed reinforced concrete beam and column, the authors have conducted a series of seismic tests on several specimens. This paper describes the tests of beam-to-column joints having various connection shapes. The selected connection shapes were 1) non-shrinkage mortar 2) non-shrinkage mortar with stand mesh 3) strand mesh with shear cotter. The obtained results were as follows. 1) The joint of strand mesh with shear cotters showed rich energy dissipating hysteresis curves while the joint only having non-shrinkage mortar revealed rather pinched hysteresis curves. 2) In the beam-column joint, shear cracks were developed with the increase of lateral displacement and finally the joint failed in shear. |
