A Study on the architectural characteristics and the life style of the recently constructed houses by the residents` self-planning in Kyongsangnam-do |
| Abstract |
The aim of this study is to offer the basic data concerning the architectural characteristics and the residents' life-style of the recently constructed farmhouses, built by the residents' self-planning after 1987 when the government-driven standard housing plan policy was banned, for the desirable farmhouse planning.The field study including measurement and interview with questionnaire was done at 77 farmhouses scattered in Milyang-gun, Yangsan-gun and Ulsan-gun near Ulsan city, and the data was analysed by the qualitative and quantitative method.The farmhouses studied here showed average size of 25-pyongs(82-5m2) and took the flat slab type of roof by the masonry construction of the red blicks. The characteristics in planning were 1 the Anbang placedadjacent above the living room, 2 a pare of double-sliding doors for the Anbang, 3 a pair of double-sliding doors between the living room and the yard for the openness of the living room, 4 a door between the living room and the kitchen, 5 the multiuse-room by the kicthen for supplemental use, 6 the indoor toilet with altered usage as multiuse-room and 7 the storage space as attics secured indoor.The robe-changing space near the entrance hall and the outdoor washing space are recommended for the better planning, and the need for the wider storage space to keep the farming tools and grain asks the simultaneous planning of the annexed structure with the main living space. |
