Three-Dimensional Analysis of Contaminant Distribution in an Air-Conditioned Room |
Abstract |
The behaviour of air flow and contaminant distribution in a room with air inlet at the ceiling and air outlet at the bottom of the wall are predicted by three-dimensional numerical analysis focusing on pressure boundary condition. The results are as follows:1) In heating condition, air flow reaches to the surface of the ceiling forming large circulation; but in cooling condition, air flow is formed under the mid-height of the room.2) Generally, it shows that high contaminated region is widely distributed from floor to opposite side of the outlet.3) Besides, the results shows that both the distribution of contaminant concentration and average of its concentration in heating condition are wider and higher than those in cooling condition, From these facts it is necessary to be careful of contaminant control in heating than in cooling. |
