Abstract For system performance evaluation of a floor heating system using night time electrictity as a heat source and Phase Change Meterial as heat storage metherial, a computer simulation program is developed.For the parameters of floor heating system design, a case study is performed by numerical simulation.The brief summaries of study results are as follow.1) The thermal performance of floor heating system is evaluated by Degree Hour (DHb, DHu, DHa etc.), and it is concluded that this evaluation method is useful to energy conservation and for thermally comfortable room environment.2) With the developed numerical simulation program, it is possible to predict energy consumption of any type of floor heating system.3) In order to generate a practical application data for system design, the influence of latent heat capacity of PCM, finishing material and etc. On system performanceare investigated by computer simulation.
