Title Study on the Improvement of Strength and Frost Resistance of Lightweight Concrete

Abstract This paper describes the results of experimental research on strength improvement and freezing-and-thawing resistance of lightweight aggregate concrete. The variables for the experiment were water cement ratio, kinds of aggregate, water content of lightweight aggregate and curing method of specimens.Test results show that high strength and improved resistance to frost could be obtained by low water cement ratio and addition of silica fume, and also by enveloping the lightweight coarse aggregate with cement paste.
