A Study on the Analysis of the Fracture and Strength of Concrete Based on Cement Mortar-Aggregate Bond Strength |
Abstract |
Recently, the high performance concrete has been developed in many countries. For the development of such high performance concrete, it is required to develope the better theoretical and microscopic approach method. The objectives of this paper are to study the basic nature of the cement-aggregate bond and its effect on concrete performance. The effect of the bond on concrete performance seems to be shown by relationship between concrete strength and bond strength, and it is suggested that the quality of the bond affect to concrete durability. In this study, the effects of the aggregate-mortar bond strength, mortar compressive strength on concrete compressive strength were investigated and analyzed. The test variables were water-cement ratio, age, admixtures such as fly ash, slica fume, type of aggregate, type of specimen and strain rate. As the result, with increasing of water-cement ratio, the bond strength is slightly decresed while the compressive strength of mortar and concrete was significantly decreased, rate of strength gain was not decreased for the case of bond strength. On limit test, High-strength of concrete has been made by the increase of mortar strength, not by the increased of bond strength. |
