Abstract Considering the geographical situation of Korea surrounded by sea, it is necessarily suggested to use sea-sand as a source of fine aggregate for construction. But, the corrosion of steel in concrete which deteriorates the durability of concrete is accelerated by salt of sea-sand, when the chloride content would be in the excess of 0.04%. So, the extra salt must be eliminated in order to use sea-sand as aggregate in concrete.Through experiment for sprinkler system, we have found that the desalinizing rate of this system is more than 92.37% at the lower ratio of sea-sand to water, 1:0. 25. And after desalinization of sea-sand, the chloride content is less than 0.01%. Sprinkler system is considered to have more advantages for full-sized physical desalinizing system than screw conveyor system in sight of water saving.
