Title Thermal Environment and Comfort in District Heating Apartment

Abstract The purpose of this study was to suggest a conditional and convenient heating regulation system of the district heating apartment by examining and evaluating the condition of thermal environment of the mid-sized apartment.Experimental investigation was conducted assuming eight different situation for the heating regulation condition, and measured the environmental elements such as air temperature, relative humidity, air velocity and radiant temperature in a subject house. PMV(Predicted Mean Vote) and PPD(Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied) were measured using the Thermal Comfort Meter (Type 1212) in climate chamber.In experimental investigation, air and radiant temperature showed as 20.3-25.4C and significantly difference for the heating space. The comfort zone of thermal environment was revealed as 21-27C in condition of 0.5-0.8 clo and 1.0-1.2 met. Therefore, the thermal environment of this district heating apartment investigated comfortable condition.
