Abstract The purpose of this study is to propose the betterment methods for dwelling environment condition based on the results of dweller's consciousness about the physical and environmental characteristics by corridor types (double I(public), double II(private), tower, stair hall, twin) in 9 multi-family housings. The corridor length of double I type is 32m-36m and that of double II type is 40m-45m. The corridor width of twin type is 1.06m and that of double I type is 1.25m-1.6m.Automatic fire detection, alarm system and ventilation equipment need to be installed in double and twin corridor type. First of all, children playground, rest area, and bicycle parking lot have to be provided in outdoor space of multi-family housing. The double and twin corridor type have a lot of problems about the lack of indoor ventilation and spreading of noise from corridor. The sunshine condition of stair hall and twin corridor types is better than that of double and tower corridor type. The most influencial factor for dwelling satisfaction is housing size.
