Abstract In this study, the questionnaire is made on the target of 74 cleanrooms located in 64 manufactories, Korea. The direction of energy save method for some day to come is suggested grasping the real state of use of air conditioning system and heat source equipment, and the saving method and problems adopted to saving energy within the system.To diminish the outdoor air load covering considerable parts of all the loads in the cleanrooms, the method is considered to be very effective that general or heated exhaust air being stable heat source is used as heat recovery or retaken in the cleanrooms. The scale-down of clean space and reduction of air-velocity under filter is necessary to reduce the energy of blowing power in the cleanrooms. But, the evaluations are proceeded about the restraint of elevating air flow caused by the heat of manufacturing equipments and stability influencing to the products.Over 85% of responded people has possitive opinion obout the necessity of future energy saving, and the using energy from 10 to 30% is needed to reduce than the present state. The future energy saving strategy are considered like reuse and preventive loss of energy, optimization of circulation air volume, and reduction of outdoor air load. But, the problems which are life cycle cost, the added space for equipment, and security of product yield are come to force.
