Abstract |
Architectural crisis of the late 15th century was how to explore the expressive possibility of Renaissance classical architecture and how to combine the medieval tradition with Humanistic atchitecture. Bramante solved this transitional problem of the late 15th century. He established classical rules of Renaissance architecture and succeeded in combining them with the decorative tradition of the northern Italy. This contribution of Bramante is called the completion of the Renaissance Classicism. On the other hand, Bramante's poetic use of classical elements originating from the decorative tradition of the northern Italy is said to have opened the Mannerism. Like this, Bramante succeeded in making the transitional period of the early 16th century the peak of the Renaissance-High Renaissance and Mannerism. This study is to show this contribution of Bramante's, especially focused on his use of orders. |
