A Study on the Space Use Patterns of Urban Mass Detached House |
| Abstract |
This study investigates mass detached houses that were built after 1960s in Taegu area, and analyze the life-style of residents living in the house.Through observation and interview, we could identify the attribute of life-style in relation with housing space, housing structural patterns, and use of housing space. We also collected additional data using questionnaire instrument to analyze the content of life-style in detail. The SAS program was used for this study.This study will show how and where the daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, family reception, family gathering, and ritual events of residents living in urban detached houses take place, and will identify behavioral attribute of residents in each rooms to find the symbolic meanings of space, territorial consciousness of space, the trend of spatial individualization, and adjusting behavior. |
