A Study on the Form decision factor of Housing in the Cho-sun Dynasty |
| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to get the form decision factor of housing in the Cho-sun Dynasty. Form of the housing is a result that represents thoughts of builder. And under any conditions, these thoughts work as a factor to decide the housing form. Houses of high class were influenced by their culture and social priciples while civil houses represented restrictions from the nature and localism strongly. Therefore, among the Sa-dae-bu who lived in same Yong-nam province, Soe-in and No-ron who took official rank preferred ㄱshaped house that was popular in Chung-bu province and Nam-in adopted shaped house that was ordinary form of novel houses in An-dong area where Toe-gye, the founder of Yung-nam-hak-pa lived. But this study put geographical limitation in Yung-nam province, extensive examination will be required to determine if this result can be applicable to other areas. |
