Abstract This study intends to find out the spatial characteristics of exhibition spaces in art galleries in terms of the visitors' movement pattern, It also deals with the historical background of museums in terms of the idea of a museum and its architectural development in order to explain the characteristics of the spatial form. In analysing the spatial form of exhibition spaces systematically, it introduces the Space Syntax method as a descriptive tool.As the result, it can be said that by being able to predict the consequences of their spatial configuration on the visitors, in particular their movement pattern, architects can offer more supportive space, a goal which corresponds with the museum's objectives.
