A Field Study on the Social Function & Spatial Use of Church in Seoul Metropolitan Area |
| Abstract |
This paper is the primary research to find out the relation between social function of church and facilites. And this research tried to find our the boundary of community of the social service of church.To know that boundary, I researched the characteristic of distribution of churches and christians.A survey was used to various regions in Seoul according to income levels; 5 Dong in Kangnamgu, 6 Dong in Mappogu, and 8 Dong in Kwanakgu.The results are as follows: In high income district, characteristics of churches distribution are a few, but larger in their sizes than others. The ratio of possession of own builiding is lower in low income district, and it is hard to expect social services using church facililities for a church which has fewer than 300 persons. In the chracteristic of distriburion of christian, in high income district, christians scatters by large boundary, but in middle and low income district, 70-90% of all christinans live in 1.5km. |
