A Study on the Development of Light-Weight Wall Panel Using Steel Frames |
| Abstract |
Cold-formed steel structural members can be used very efficiently where hot-rolled members are uneconomic. For development of light-weight wall panel, cold-formed sections which were made of coldrolld plate instead of hot-rolled plate have been used. The buckling stress and mode of these channels have been studied. In case of having two intermediate stiffeners and rear-flanges, the light-weight channel showed similar buckling stress to the ordinary channel section and the reduction of weight is approximately 27%. And a simple design method of interior wall panel using light-weight channels has been proposed. |
