Abstract Numerical investigation is carried out for the two dimensional natural convection, heat and mass transfer in the natural cooling system. The system is constituted with of three different zones; the first zone is humidity and adiabatic, the second zone is dry and adiabatic and the third zone is dry and bounded by the heat flux constant. The governing equations for the system were solved by the finite difference method. The present paper shows the profiles of the velocities, pressures, temperatures, humidities, local and average Nusselt number and Sherwood number with the principle parameters in the natural cooling system. Also, this paper presents the basic theory for using the energy of underground in the building.
