| Abstract |
The dwellings-on-ground in the flat housing estate have the positive aspects as well as the negative ones in their condition of residential environment. The precedent study on the responses of residents identified that the negative factors are mainly sunlight, daylight, view and privacy, and the positive ones are accessibility to dwellings and good environment for children and elderly people. The design improvement of dwellings-on-ground should be focused on reducing the former and reinforcing the latter.In this poing of view, this study discussed 3 problems of the design improvement : improving sunlight and view : providing private gardens and individual accesses to dwellings ; variable transformation of unit plan in dwellings-on-ground. |
