On the Hierarchy and Sequence in Architectural Space of Korean Chong-ga |
Abstract |
The result from the meaning and analysis of hierarchy and sequence takes an important role in an architectural creation. The purpose of this study is to recognize the elements of order and object through the space experience focused on Korean Chong-ga, besides, to extract the factor of link on human and nature in the inner and exterior space. Each space is enclosed with wall, which is emphasized visual-spatial sequence. As the functional space is connected Mi-da-gee & Deul-ae-yeal-gae, a small space is made enlarged to a large space. Ma-dang is connected to proto-space in a distance space.The site is divided into the male and the female, master and servant, the sacred and the profane space. The plan type is developed and changed to it, according to the local climate and it is applied by openness and closure. The architect a thought and academic background, expressed by the upper culture and social rule, have an effect on it.Chong-ga is composed of Jung-chim - je-chung - Sa-dang, gradually; Je-chung was included into Jung-chim, Sa-dang isconnected with the heavens and the earth, and located as upper space in consideration of center and mental meaning. Sa-dang is enclosed by the tetragonal wall, which gave a visual extension. |
