Abstract Concrete Block Structure(CBS) is a structure greatly affected by the quality of used materials and applied workmanship. In Korea, with all the improvement of materials, there are not enough research on the influence of the material properties on strength. CBS is being constructed under the condition that the interactions among materials are not being fully considered. For these reasons many problems are found on strength and capability. The research on the physical quality of material components was not sufficient, so far the experimental results obtained abroad was adopted in Korea. That research had the limit not to consider the unit block and mortar characteristics and workmanship differently influenced by the regional feature. Therefore, in order to make use of CBS reasonably, the research on both the physical quality of vasic material components and the quality of each materials, considered more than any other factors, is required.This research is to experimentally and theoretically compare the material properties that affect CBS strength to provide the improving CBS strength. Therefore, the selected factors affecting the bond strength(BS) were combined, the experiment was carried out with them, and the results were compared and the combination condition between material components and the quality was investigated so that the BS of CBS could be maximized.
