A Study on the Changing Architectural Concepts and the Design Approach based on Cognition |
| Abstract |
The purpose of this paper is to propose the design approach based on cognition, which is useful to architect's design activity for the composition of architectural form and space. For this objectives, the design attitudes and changing architectural concepts of architects who take a serious view of bodyimage, memory, schema, perception, behavior etc. and the relationships of cognition and architecturaldesign are analysed in detail. And also the issues of the perception of architectural form and space are studied from the viewpoint of cognition. As the results of this study, it is suggested the conceptual frameworks for design approach, which contain thecognitive structure, aesthetic set, meaning set and cogntive-behavioral attributes. |
