| Abstract |
The supply of rental housing was insufficient in Korea. The cost of the security deposit was raised through 1980s. The purpose of this study is to analyze the residental movility, the living conditions and the security deposit of renter-households.The major characteristics are as follows. 1) Academic career and income of renter-households in detached multi-family houses are higher than those in detached houses. 2) The living conditions of renter-households in detached multi-family houses are better than those in detached houses. 3) The security deposit of detached multi-family houses is higher than those in detached houses. 4) The renter-households in detached multi-family houses consider that utility conditions and privacy are more important than the amount of security deposit. 5) Regardless of the housing type, renter-households want to own a house. But, the number of renter-households who have a concrete plan to own a house are limited. |
