A study on the behavior of High-Strength Reinforced Concrete Columns subjected to Axial and Cyclic Lateral Loads |
Abstract |
This paper is an experimental study on High-Strength reinforced concrete columns subjected to compressive axial and cyclic lateral loads. To accomplish the purpose into the test, experimental and analytical study was investigated, eight specimens were made with High-Strength concrete of =507kg/cm2 and High-Steel bars of =3675kg/cm2.The main objectives of this research were to investigate the seismic behavior of RC columns using High-Strength concrete and to define mechanical behavior of RC columns under high axial load and cyclic lateral load and to obtain basic data for high-rise buildings. The experimental parameters are the longitudinal reinforcement, the shear reinforcement ratio and the compressive axial force ratio. This paper deals with respective parameters affected Ultimate Strength and deformation capacity. The ultimate stength was evaluated the axial force-moment (N-M) interaction. The evaluation of deformation capacity was analyzed by ductility index. |
