A Study on the Townscape Design Approach in Highrise Apartment Area |
| Abstract |
This study aims to propose a townscape design approach for breaking from conventional simplicity and uniformity in highrise apartment area. To achieve this purpose, human psychological responses and preferences are studied in the process of perception, cognition, and evaluation. In order to compensate for the limitations and propensitis of user-oriented questionnaires, the architectural characteristics of highrise apartment area are surveyed throughphenomenological observations in the view of architect-oriented concepts.These cognitive images, preferences, and phenomenological observations are applied into design process. As a result, townscape design approach process in highrise apartment area is proposed. This proposed disign approach process is scientific and positive reflecting user-oriented values and ideas, rather than normative and intuitional reflecting architect-oriented ones. |
