Abstract |
This research is based on the study of traditional housing in the southern province of Korea. The conclusion obtained through this study is as follows;(1) The housing prototypes of different regions vary in their usage, according to their spatial character and traditional moral patterns which seperate the zones of men and weman.(2) Although on the surface, day to day activities may not seem to ralate to special events, they are indirectly affected by the division of spaces by their sexes.(3) The tradition of 'Anbang-Mulim' is not only concerned with time, but also with an adaptable space that meet the demands following the change of family members.(4) In plan, the spaces may be idential, yet their designated names and regional character convey specific function, meaning and even interpretation of space. |
