Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze spatial configuration of streets in multi-family housing estates by using the Space Syntax Methodology and to survey the number of pedestrians of streets, and finally to test the relationship between them.As the results, there was the good relationship between integration value(RRA) derived from the Space Syntax Methodology and the number of pedestrians. The results support that pedestrians mainly use the streets which have the good social configuration. Thus, planners can use the Space Syntax Methodology to control pedestrians in streets, public spaces and community facilities of multi-family housing estates.
