| Abstract |
Despite its significance in the history of modern Korean architecture, the acceptance of western architecture has been generally illuminated from narrowly confined perspectives, and consequently overlooked. Such overlooking could have been resulted from superficial interpretation which had been caused by the paucity of empirical studies based on facts.For this reason, this study will deal with the historical facts of the acceptance and evolution process of Anglican church architecture in Korea as a selective culture process.For this, extensive survey of existing Korean style church buildings, and inductive typological analysis methods will be adapted. |
