Abstract The study is to present conceptual framework for the new color concept of modern art that is the preliminary phase in "the study on the plastic color of Modern Architecture". Formalism of arts has provided the ground for establishing the new color concept of modern arts and the scientific findings. i.e., "color is light' has also brought a change in the concept of color. As a result, while color has lost the historial merit of its symbolic meanings, it has gained an identity as plastic priciple of arts. Now color has destroyed the pictorial space defined by formal elements (line, plane and form and constructed new pictorial space formed by perceptual color.De Stijl and russian Constructivism has further developed the new pictorial space to formalize a real architetural space: color, an element in pictorial construction, is projected to real space as an element of architectural construction.
