Frame Based Knowledge Representation for an Architectural Expert System |
Abstract |
The methods for knowledge acquisition, representation and probabilisticreasoning must be defined to develop an expert system. This paper describes a method to represent procedural knowledge in the development of an expert system which is applicable to the architectural programming and planning stage.Frames contain both declarative and procedural knowledge. The proposed system uses a frame-based knowledge representation to handle all the components in the high-level processing of the evaluation hierarchy and to specify detailed operations specific to a building type. |
