Abstract The purpose of this study is to present the methodology on the strucrural analysis of high-rise apartment housing. Linear bearing wall-type structural system which has been currently constructed in domestic area was selected as a reference plan. Structural analysis and design were carried out for each selected reference plan adoptingclassical structural system which is modeled by various methods. By analyzing dynamic characteristic of high-rise apartment housing, general guidelines for seismic design, such as rational modeling technique by ETABS program, determination of eigen value at each excitation direction and recommendation for the determination of scale factor on design base shear were proposed.
