Abstract Concrete filled steel tube column has a large deformation capacity by combining steel and concrete interaction. However, it has not been used often in a practical construction field.It is partly because non-destructive inspection method for concrete filling has not been established yet. It is also due to lack of practical method of evaluating the capacity of concrete filled steel tube column.In This paper attempt to predict the ultimate load carring capacity of short concrete filled steel tube column and present the test result and formula for calculate the ultimate capacity of their column.
