A Study on the expressions of `modernity` in the medium-rise multi-family housing in 1960` |
| Abstract |
This study aims to educe the modernity of the medium-rise multi-famaly housing in 1960's Korea. To achieve this purpose, the expressive characteristics of several midium-rise multi-family housing areas are surveyed through phenomenological observations. And the journals, the proceedings, and the references which were published 1960' are reviewed to know on the thought of the times and the architectrual disputes.The outcomes from this study are as follows;Firstly, the medium-rise multi-family housing in 1960's is the different housing prototype comparing with the traditional housing block pattern. It has new mechanisms of housing organizing system and produces the new collective-figures of housing area containing the -,Y-,L-,H- shaped building plan.Secondly, the expressive characteristics of the medium-rise multi-family housing in 1960' reflect the thought of the times, and contains the formal diversity in building design which are composed of the mixtures of dwelling unit types, the material textures, the colors, and the roof. But it changes to monotonous for the economical efficiency 1970's. |
