Abstract While western geography is focussed on the analitical and inductive results on the basis of the epistemology, Fung-shui geography of eastern Asia on the intuitive and deductive logics on the basis of the philosophy of Eum-yang-oh-hang(음양오행). Therefore, Korean traditional architecture should be understood through investigation into the Korean way of building and the Korean Modes of architectural expression.Fung-shui geography is studies which discuss the logic of wind, water and land. It is the methodology for selecting the bestsite that man can use in the natural environment. In the paper I attempted to clear up the scientific validity of the site-selection theories which were written by Dae-gak-guk-sa(대각국사), Euy-chon(의천) at the time of King Euy-jong(예종), Korea Dynasty. This study contains three research categories as following.- Caracteristics of site selection through interpretation and analysis of Pung-sui geography map- Caracteristics of site selection through investigation and analysis of exsisting topograpy map- Corelation analysis for both of themAs a result of this study, I could analyze that the records on Fung-shui geographical map of the Sunam temple consisted of clear and scientifical theories of site selection such as Kyoung-duk-kap-pa(경덕갑파) and Hae-jwa-sa-hyang(해좌사향) not only at that time but also at the present.
