Abstract |
Recent changes in social environment and enhancement of living standards make architectural functions of buildings more complicated. These complications of the architectural functions and the development of new materials cast considerable difficulties in making resonable choices of elemental building components and cost-saving criteria of their design. For these reasons, the necessity of optimization methods for building component system is being seriously raised.In order to develop the optimization method for building elements at the design stage, this study first constructs a diagrammatic-building-systems-integration-model that analyzes the building system and generated alternatives in element level, and then systemizes the process to select an optimal alternative to satisfy desired functions, Finally, this paper proposes an selection process that develops optimization method for building component, systems by developing a mathematical model to effectively calculate the cost of the optimal alternative which has been selected. |
